How listings work
Where the listings come from
The HPCSA's public register is read every week: physiotherapists (PT), biokineticists (BK) and intern biokineticists (BKIN, listed with the biokineticists). It is joined with the public directories where practitioners list themselves: the SASP's Find a Physio, the Discovery Vitality and Momentum Multiply biokineticist networks, RecoMed and Medpages. The data on this site is from October 2026.
Who is listed
A physiotherapist or biokineticist is listed when at least one public directory lists them. Most listings are matched to the HPCSA register; a listing with no match shows no HPCSA number. Someone found only on the HPCSA register has a page that opens from a direct link but appears in no list, search or count. So does a listing the register shows as suspended, erased, terminated, expired or closed, until the register shows it active again. A town or city with fewer than 3 listings still has its page, but the page is not offered to search engines.
What a listing shows
The name, category, job titles, HPCSA number and the status the register shows for it (such as active, suspended or erased), the suburb, city and province, the special interests the physiotherapist or biokineticist lists, a first consultation fee where the physiotherapist or biokineticist publishes one, the medical aids they name, their own website and links to every source profile. A special interest on a listing is the practitioner’s own description of their work, as published on the source directory; it is not a qualification or a review.
What a listing never shows
Phone numbers, email addresses or bio text. Contact happens through the physiotherapist or biokineticist's own site or a source profile.
Order
City, category and special interests lists put the listings with the most details first (the share of listing fields the physiotherapist or biokineticist has filled in), then go alphabetically by name. The home page shuffles its first page on every rebuild so nobody is first by design.
Claiming, correcting and removing
Every listing page links to a form to claim it, to ask for a correction, or to ask for it to be removed. A removal is honoured by hand after a check and does not come back when the site is rebuilt.
